When a person places all their attention onto a task, everything around them becomes void in memory. Regardless of how often people remind them that certain items were in a location or a person was talking, it is to no avail as there is no real memory of the event. In retrospect, we are blind in our surroundings and have no definitive memory other than the apparent task we had at hand.
